In case the title didn’t give it away, I did it. I broke 50k about 10 minutes ago. Oh my goddess what an amazing feeling it is, am bouncy right now. I think thats the best word to describe how am feeling. I never would have though in a million years that I could write a novel well here I am I did my first 50 thousand words in under a month.
Based on where I am in the story and what’s happened I figure I’m honestly about half way through the story. It’s also something that could easily turn in to a small series of novels as well. Now I guess the real trick is for me to fight the urge to print this baby off hole punch it and toss it in a binder and start editing. Before I will allow myself to do that I want to finish the story itself. Then I will print and edit.
I’ve also have plans to sign myself up for an English course being offered at one of the adult education centres in the new year. It is a grade 11 English course that focuses on grammar. I never would have guessed I’d be excited about going back to school to take an English course of all things. Funny how time changes people.
Well enough patting myself on the back and bragging about future plans. It’s time to get back to writing.. Good luck to all the rest of you writing this year.
Oh by the way the 50,000 word was ‘Pineapple’

I’m so close to the 50k mark I can taste it in fact it’s less then 2 thousand words to go. I’ll be finishing it up over the course of the evening and will be doing the happy dance around my living room the minute I finish I promise. No I won’t be posting pictures of it.
The scene am working on is flowing really nicely and has the feel of the half way point. The main characters have learn the turth about themselves and now have to deal with what that means and how it will be effecting their lives. The villian continues his horrible ritual, for whatever reason he is doing it.
I’ll be keeping you all up todate as I go. Plans now look like I’ll be taking a free evening grammer course in the New Year. It’s strange am kind of excited about school. THis must be how Tamile is feeling.

Well winter is here to stay for another season. It’s just after 8am and the weather report I just heard but the temperature at -25 celius and with the wind chill it feels like -34. To people not from around here those numbers might sound a bit shocking, and in part I kind of wish they were shocking to me as well. Sadly they are just a normal part of the Manitoba winter.
Yesterday was basically our first mini blizzard, it snowed fairly heavily from about 10am until around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. The wind along the way just kept getting stronger and stronger, judging from the comments I heard from the smokers who kept going out side in it. You just knew it was going to snow since I spent time that morning shoveling my walk and driveway.

Here is the backyard again, the tracks you see are from our dog Ginger, and a rabbit that has made it’s home under our shed over by the fence.

This one is again looking out across at the park. Notice how covered the rails are on the left hand side and the bench on the right.
Both photos where taken this morning about 15 minutes ago.
Enjoy and welcome winter, I hope your visit is a short one.
Update: On the way in to work this morning they warned of 2 or 3 more centimeters of snow being called for tonight.

Well it wasn’t the best of weekends for writing, but I got a couple of really good sessions in. Friday night was the virtual write in in the Nanotoban channel on Good chatting. I think both Tamile and I did about 2.5k over the course of the evening. It was a lot of fun and good time seemed to be haved by all..
Saturday was a total bust for writing, we had shopping to do, Got some great new clothes. Including new pants for me and Tamile both. Then that night we distracted ourselves and Betty, Heather, and Nathan with a Bingo Bowl until midnight.
Sunday was juggling, baking, and then more writing. Again we both did about 2k which was a great way to end the weekend.

Today was a spirit day at work to show are support for the Blue Bombers who are playing in the Grey Cup this weekend. We even had a visit from one of the christmas Mascots
The photo was taken by a friend who works here as well. He also does the blog Lunabovine, you can find a link on the side if you look.
The costume looked great, his handler descreet and stayed out of the way. It was a pretty impressive bit of work. Being a mascot is never an easy thing, I was a Green Machine a number of years ago. My hats off to the person in the suit they were active and energtic the whole time I saw them.
All in all work was pretty impressive. A big letters in the front windows spelled out ‘GO BOMBERS’ people all over where wearing various jerseys, t-shirts, and hats all showing their support for the bombers. Oddly enough the woman beside me is wearing Green, and no one has commented or even noticed.

What a great feeling, an amazing rush for a first time writer. I just broke 40,000 words. I’m so close to being finished the challenge I can almost taste the finish line at this point.
Nanowrimo has a really interesting experience. I’ve met a lot of new people, reconnected with an old friend. Not to mention really discovered a serious amount of joy in writing. It is something I plan to keep doing for a long time.
Well I should get back to writing.
For those interested the 40,000 word was ‘hands’

So monday night I left work in a rush hurrying out of here to make it bowling on time. It’s pretty much what I would be doing any night that I work till 6, but things were working against me on this day. When I had left for work that morning I hadn’t brought my normal bag, so everything felt different. To make a long story short I left my flash drive with the most current copy of my Nanowrimo Novel sitting on my desk.
Of course I wasn’t feel good the next day either, so I have finally gotten it back and the universe is all in its right place and world.. The moral of the story is always ALWAYS keep an up to date back of any important work…

Ok… So apparently they have other shows on Monday night that are not Heroes and Chuck. I know I found it shocking as well, but still they say it’s true.
Now we can all agree that there is clearly something wrong with the mental processes of people not watching Heroes. As proof I offer “The Bachelor“
A show where after about three weeks (Real time) of rapid fire and often group dating. The star of the show, our Bachelor hero (Not to be confused with the real heroes on another show) is given a diamond ring to give to one of the girls from the show in a proposal of marriage. Thats the whole basis of the show, Guy meets a bunch of woman and weeds the group down to two.
Now lets for a moment pretend the marriage is a sacred institute between two people (No gender limitations here) who are making a life time commitment to each. People had somehow sat through this for several weeks waiting with baited breath to see who he would pick and what does he do? He dumps them both, with basically the same BS LINE.
For the people who sat through this weeks, don’t you feel dirty now? Shame on you. Watch a good show. Even Heroes Season 2 is better then that..
On a different subject was I the only one really disappointed with Chuck last night? New Character, New Romance, Let tie her to an Arms dealer… Is no one normal on that show?

Ok so I was wrong the last snow fall didn’t stick around, in fact it was gone before the end of the day. Yesterday we had another down fall, in fact at one point when we were out grabbing a few things that we needed for supper I would have described it as a blizzard. It would have made for some amazing pictures, alas (Earwax) I didn’t have my camera with me.
Once I got home, the snow had slowed to slow but steady fall and then trickled off to none at all. I snapped a couple of pictures of the back yard and of the park across the street. I’ll post more of them as the winter continues and we get deeper and deeper in to the snow.

This one was taken at about 1:30pm from my back deck, looking in to my back yard.

This next one was taken a few minutes later, I was just outside my front door looking out across the street in to the park that is my front yard.
